Sorry guys,
I haven't been doing a good job at the moment of keeping up with the challenge - so busy at work doing the jobs of two peope I barely have time to eat unfortunately :( I'm going to put this on hold until after Christmas when I go back to doing just my job.
Will start over in January.

Day #5

We went to Montezuma's last night - Still life sketch of our bottle of water, the candle holder, and Paul's glass of sangria.
On the right, some more poses - trying to take on some different camera angles - front on and side on poses aren't so hard, but angling up from the ground is kinda tricky. Definitely need to use some reference pics for these ones...

Apologies
Hi folks,
Apologies for my lack of updates, I've been temporarily knocked about by last night's work Christmas party, and will resume posting sketches as soon as I feel better. Waaaah.

Day #3
Today's sketches brought to you via Paul's iPhone, as the camera is better than my crappy nokia. Wheeeee.

I kinda like the ribbon climber - though her left leg looks a little weird (her left, right on the page). Back bendy girl was tricky to work out and I still don't think I have the arms right..

Day #2
More awful phone photos ahoy!

Outstanding chap, MurderSandwich linked me to a website called Posemaniacs.com - site has a random pose generator that I've decided to use. Should be a good tool.

I like my little running guy off to the bottom left here - he's got a more cartoony thing happening. Always fun.

Day #1
I apologise in advance - I suspect there's going to be more than one Camera phone shot on this blog - I'll try to scan most of these at work though. Unfortunately the work scanner doesn't really care for pencil... May have to start working with biro.
And apparently I fail at reading dates and started a day later than everyone else o_o whoops.

Eve before sketchfest
Mmm, sketching to begin tomorrow - hopefully I can be good and keep up the sketch momentum.
I've decided that I'd like to get better at drawing people. Most of my people are generally standing front on in fairly uninteresting poses (which is fine for fashion sketches, but not much else). Just quickly tried my hand at a gymnastic pose and it occurs to me that I've got no idea how the body moves and bends.
One of the artists I follow on DeviantART is brilliant at drawing contortionists - Yuni@DeviantART - I'm impressed by the way they can depict the human form, and while some of the pictures look a bit farfetched as far as the limits of the human body, it all looks like everything is in the right place. I'd like to be able to draw bodies like they do and have them look like humans instead of weirdly shaped anime creatures.
Will see how I go though...

30 Days of Sketches
Feeding my old addiction to creating blogs, and encouraging my weakened art talents in one fell swoop :P
Tagging along on Metanoia_chan's quest, I'll be aiming for at least one sketch per day - and hopefully to improve on the rudimentary skills I have. I can make some pretties, but I'm lacking in a lot of technical details, and I mostly draw very simple things these days.
So starting from Monday, 22nd* November - Let the Sketching begin! :)
